The sky is literally the limit for the Drone Awards competition that has unveiled the stunning winning photos for 2019. From cross-country skiers that look like fish, voted Photo Of The Year, to human giants and desert camels, this year’s aerial art winning submissions show the world from a privileged perspective.
Sponsored by the Art Photo Travel Association, which also organizes the Sienna International Photo Awards, the Drone Awards selects the best aerial photographs of the year across six categories that include Abstract, Nature, People, Sports, Wildlife and Urban.

More than 4,500 submissions by professional and amateur photographers, not only by drones but also from fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, balloons, blimps and dirigibles, rockets, kites and parachute, competed this year from 107 countries, stretching from China and Australia to Belgium and Bangladesh.
The winning images will be displayed at the “Sky’s the Limit” exhibition to be held in Siena, Italy, throughout November, 2019, during the “Siena Awards” Photo Festival.
“Drone Awards Photographer of the Year” 2019 was accorded to Jacek Deneka, a photographer from Poland, who captured cross-country skiers during the 50 kilometer classic race, the main competition of the Bieg Piastow Skiing Festival organized in Jakuszyce (Poland).
He will receive the crystal sphere “Pangea Prize” during the Awards Ceremony at the “Teatro dei Rinnovati” theatre in Siena on October 26.

In just its second year, the Drone competition has become a leading photo contest for aerial photographers looking to show off their work and connect with like-minded enthusiasts. Here is the information to participate.
“The competition is opened to the aerial photography and videos whose platforms also include fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, balloons, blimps and dirigibles, rockets, kites, and parachutes,” according to the organizers.
